has spent a lifetime surrounded by beauty.
From his birthplace in the quaint historic town of Harrodsburg,
Kentucky, to the rolling hills, regal horse farms and white plank fences
of Lexington, where he was raised; he could always see character in the
people and places around him. It
was this simple, natural beauty, and the desire to capture it on paper
that first inspired him to become an artist. Many people recognized
Todd’s talent for drawing at a very early age.
They were amazed at the untrained gift of the young artist.
But as he grew older, the dream of sustaining a living as an artist
waned with the growing responsibility of becoming a husband and father.
So, taking the road many others have traveled, he joined Corporate
America. While financial and
professional success followed, an unfulfilled yearning to draw and paint
was always present. This
artistic yearning finally became strong enough that he left the security
of Corporate America to return to his true passion – taking a blank
piece of paper and transforming it into something alive and beautiful. Today, he works to share that
passion with you. Todd has
the innate gift of seeing the completed painting even before beginning and
enjoys taking people along for the journey.
Images of family, home, and memories of the past are evident in his
work as he captures on paper those intangible qualities of his subjects.
He has a way of connecting with his subjects that gives us the
feeling we intimately know them. Maybe
it’s remembering your grandmother’s eyes as she played the piano, or
the excitement of scampering across that covered bridge as a child.
Simply put, he sees people doing what they enjoy best –
experiencing life’s simple and treasured pleasures. |
