I’ve seen few faces with as much character as his. This drawing is based on a watercolor painting by my mentor, Mitchell Tolle. The subject of this piece is Edd Presnell, a simple, plainspoken mountain man from North Carolina. He spent eighty years of his life working with wood; crafting dulcimers, and other beautiful pieces with just a few primitive tools and his own gifted hands. His mood was never controlled by his bank account or the label on the clothes he wore. He was simple and rugged, yet blessed with a wisdom few of us take time to learn in our fast paced world. |
